Next Epic Feature Release: February 21, 2021

An Epic feature release is the process of moving from one version of Epic to a newer version of Epic. Just like your cell phone, the Epic system also needs to install periodic updates to ensure the system is operating at its best capacity.  At the beginning of 2020, BJC and WUSM made the decision to move to Epic's quarterly feature release schedule. This schedule calls for us to install new releases 4 times per year. Each of these feature releases are named after the month and year in which the release became available. We are currently operating on the May 2020 version of Epic.

Our next feature release will be February 21, 2020 when we move to the August 2020 version of Epic. As with all feature releases, a few days prior to its installation, some components of the system may not be available for the update to successfully install.

Starting at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, components of certain workflows will be limited or unavailable until Sunday, February 21, when the feature release is complete (3:30 a.m.). Please review the summary of those workflows so you will know what to expect.

During the time of install (2:00 a.m.-3:30 a.m.), Epic will be “down” and all user access will be limited to the Supports Read Only (SRO) environment; this is a read only copy of the Epic system (See instructions for accessing SRO here).
